Frontiers of Freedom sets the record straight on Sen. Lummis’s failure on critical crypto legislation
WASHINGTON, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) wasted the biggest opportunity of her career by mismanaging the Senate effort on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (H.R. 3633).
For years, the crypto industry and consumers have asked for clear rules of the road: rules that let American companies build at home, give investors confidence in the products they buy, and help consumers choose what fits their needs. The CLARITY Act was supposed to deliver for them.
After the House passed the CLARITY Act in July 2025 on a widely bipartisan basis, the self-styled “crypto queen” started from scratch with a new bill in the Senate, causing a months-long delay in moving ahead. As a result, bipartisan support for the CLARITY Act fell apart.
“The Trump administration was adamant about getting CLARITY done before the end of 2025. It had bipartisan support among Congress. The path forward was clear. When Senator Lummis took lead in the Senate, she derailed it,” said George Landrith, President at Frontiers of Freedom. “Today, we are releasing an AI video setting the record straight on why the CLARITY Act failed.”
The CLARITY Act finally came to a Senate procedural vote over a year later and was rejected from moving to a full Senate vote. A bill that once passed the House with broad bipartisan support could not even get to the Senate floor after Lummis was done with it.
Today, the U.S. still doesn’t have the crypto rules the industry and consumers want. We all know whose fault it is.
