Bullieverse Integrates Chainlink VRF for Fair Distribution of NFTs
London, United Kingdom–(Newsfile Corp. – May 24, 2022) – Bullieverse, a fantasy metaverse filled with friends, games, and rewards, is excited to announce they integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on Ethereum and Polygon. This integration will help the project fairly distribute Bear NFTs (the newest addition to its Citizens of Bulliever Island (COBI) NFT collection). As rare Bear NFTs will have traits that grant holders more utility in the metaverse, Bullieverse needs a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness to ensure that the NFTs will be distributed in a provably random manner. Ultimately this gives the users more transparency as they can verify that everyone has equal access to the most valuable Bear NFTs.

Bullieverse is a metaverse where players can have fun in an immersive gaming experience, receive in-game rewards, join a thriving community, and make new friends. The first location in the metaverse is Bulliever Island, which users can access if they hold a Bull NFT. The NFT also gives them a unique bull avatar they can use to explore the island and play games with. With time, the island will be filled with an ever-expanding collection of games. For now, ‘The Bear Hunt’ is the very first of these games, where the bulls can hunt the bears and win Bear NFTs. With the Bear hunt game launch, the Bull 2D NFTs come to life as 3D characters. Additionally, both Bull and Bear NFTs will be 3D playable characters in the Bullieverse Battle Royale game, which is in the works currently. Bullieverse is also working with other NFT collections to build an interoperable cross-IP Metaverse bottom up, bringing other NFT collections to life.

As these Bear NFTs will have different traits and rarity, distributing them to winners in a provably fair manner is critical to support the integrity of The Bear Hunt game. Being the first of many such games, it’s essential that Bullieverse will provide the community with complete transparency and set the standard for the metaverse moving forward. This transparency is especially critical as the project plans to evolve into a community-owned DAO in the future.
In order to distribute the Bear NFTs in a provably fair manner, Bullieverse needs access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could independently audit. However, RNG solutions for smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure system integrity. For instance, RNG solutions derived from blockchain data like block hashes can be exploited by miners/validators, while off-chain RNG solutions derived from off-chain APIs are opaque and don’t provide users with definitive proof of the integrity of the process.
After reviewing various solutions, Bullieverse selected Chainlink VRF due to it’s cutting-edge academic research base, supported by a time-tested oracle network, and secured through the generation and on-chain verification of cryptographic proofs that prove the integrity of each random number supplied to smart contracts.
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Bullieverse smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides the users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the Bear NFT distribution process is provably fair and was not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the Bullieverse team.

As Bullieverse expands, they are planning to launch more NFTs and allow users to purchase land. Once again, they’re looking to integrate Chainlink VRF to help ensure that they’re allocated fairly amongst the community and that everyone has equal access to them.
“Providing our community with complete transparency is essential to the Bullieverse, which is why it was imperative that we integrated Chainlink VRF. We’re not only focused on creating a highly immersive gaming experience, we want it to be fair for our community as well.”-Srini Anala, Co-Founder & CEO
About Chainlink
Chainlink is the industry standard for building, accessing, and selling oracle services needed to power hybrid smart contracts on any blockchain. Chainlink oracle networks provide smart contracts with a way to reliably connect to any external API and leverage secure off-chain computations for enabling feature-rich applications. Chainlink currently secures tens of billions of dollars across DeFi, insurance, gaming, and other major industries, and offers global enterprises and leading data providers a universal gateway to all blockchains.
